1898 Primitive Geometric

I love the simplicity of this rug! It hooks up quickly and would lend itself to many color combinations very well. Great beginner's rug, too. Also see my companion punch needle pattern.

Hit ‘n’ Miss Rug

This design helps use up all those left over strips in your worm basket! Use your own color scheme, depending on the colors you have saved up. It's based on an antique quilt pattern and uses a hit and miss style color placement in each 5-inch block.

Scrappy Table Mat

What do you do with all those left-over strips at the end of a project? If you are looking for a great pattern that will help you use up left-over wool strips, here it is! Or, color plan and use your favorite country colors.

Clamshells

Clamshells - that's what the semi-circular shapes resemble. It was one of the popular geometric patterns for rug hooking in the 1800s. This rug would also be beautiful hooked in pastels or jewel tones. I hooked it in black, red, green and mustard.

Penny Rug

My adaptation of an antique penny rug, as seen in Create & Decorate Holiday 2009 issue. 24 x 16 inches

Log Cabin Rug

A popular quilt pattern of the 1800s, Log Cabin was the inspiration for this rug. I added my own twist to the design with a meandering border interspersed with dots. This is a great design to use up all those leftover strips.
