Scottish Linen 60"

Great quality 100% Belgian linen rug backing . Softer to the touch, more even and less abrasive than burlap, but with a weave similar to burlap. Serge the edges and then wash a piece for making a wonderful hooked bag, using the foundation as the background. A great primitive natural color - I love this stuff! 60 inches wide. Order in full yards only.

Rug Foundation

Scottish linen is very strong and perfect for primitive rug hooking. The holes are evenly spaced and open enough for even very wide strips (not recommended for wool strips smaller than #6), 60" wide - order in full yards only.

Dye Spoons, Set of 3

These measuring spoons will help you with the smallest amounts of dye - they measure 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32 of a teaspoon. I have used this set for all my dyeing and they work just fine - consistency is the key when measuring dye to reproduce a color on wool - always use the same set of spoons!  I find that if I always use the same spoons, I can come very close to the same color every time.

Overdyeing Tools

These extra-heavy rubber gloves will protect your hands from hot dye pots and steaming wool while dyeing. And they are very reasonably priced!

Lavender Sachet Bags

Aren't these great? I needle felted wool designs onto pieces of wool, then stitched them on the front of these muslin drawstring bags. I filled the bags with lavender blossoms -- they keep away the moths, you know? They are great for hanging in your closets or tucking in drawers or cupboards where you keep your precious stash of hooking wool! I also have one in my lingerie drawer. I love the aroma of lavender -- it is reported to be a calming scent.
