Burmilana Wool Blend

Burmilana is the brand name for Madeira's finely spun wool blend embroidery thread, 50% wool and 50% acrylic, perfect for punch needle embroidery and decorative stitching.  Burmilana is a strong and thick thread (No.12) which fills designs quickly, with a warm and interesting texture. The high percentage wool content ensures embroidery will not pill. These single-strand, indivisible threads come in 30-yard, hand-wound skeins (all one piece for easier punching and less re-threading.)

If you love the look of old hooked rugs, you an achieve that same look in your punch needle work with these threads. They work up great using two strands of the same or complementary colors in a 3-strand needle. But also look great in single-strand work with a shorter loop length, using a single-strand needle.
