These Russian-style needle punch embroidery pieces are completed and for sale, or you may commission a piece to be worked in colors of your choosing. Pieces shown here are my original designs worked using either wool blend threads, 100% Lamb's wool threads that were hand-dyed or hand-dyed cotton threads.

I love the simplicity of this design! I was immediately attracted to the antique rug of this pattern when I saw it  in one of my favorite books about antique hooked rugs, and had to develop an adaptation of it for needle punch work. It will lend itself to many interior color schemes and styles. Single-strand needle punch work available by commission only.

Primitive Crow Mini Rug

Here is another design based on one of the old fraktur I love. Deer were a very popular motif in Early American folk art, and this one is simple, but elegant-looking. Very easy to work, with classic folk art stroke work as accents. Two colors worked together to produce a soft, aged color to the deer and background. This design would also look wonderful against a dark background. Single- and double-strand needle punch work, matted in ivory and burgundy; available unframed or in a gold vintage metal frame.

Measures  6 x 4 inches.

I thoroughly enjoyed designing and working this pattern. It would lend itself nicely to so many color combinations. Many old fraktur, although now faded, were painted with very vibrant colors that came from the pigments of the earth. So even though I love the dull, muted tones of antique rugs, I work my fraktur needle punch patterns with some of the brighter colors seen in old fraktur designs. Double-strand work. Frame not available.

Here's a simple crow with some old rug design elements that are just plain fun to work. Very easy and graphic for all you prim crow and old rug lovers! Make it into a pin, put it in a little picture frame, or appliqué it to your blazer! Double-strand work.

This needle punch design is my miniature adaptation of an antique American hooked rug. This design is very simple but has that fabulous folk art look and feel, much like the original rug.

I used hand-dyed 100% lambs wool threads from France to do this needle punch work. Single-strand needle punch work available in new black wood frame as shown.

This needle punch design is a miniature version of my 1898 Primitive pattern for rug hooking. It is an adaptation of an antique American hooked rug. This design is very simple, primitive, and works up very quickly. Double-strand needle punch work available framed in new wood frame. Measures 3.25 x 2.5 inches.

Here  is a familiar antique hooked rug adapted for needle punch. I used brighter colors because the piece is so small. You might like it this way, or with more subdues colors.

I used hand-dyed 100% lambs wool threads from France to do this needle punch work.

Here's a pattern that is so quick and easy to work, but just so darned cute. You can finish it to wear as a pin or frame him as a fun winter-time mini work of art. Double-strand needle punch embroidery work.

Measures 2 x 2 inches.

This adaptation was based on an antique fraktur (an illuminated watercolor done on paper to commemorate a birth.)  I love the old art of fraktur and the elements used in that art form lend themselves very well to this small fiber art of needle punch embroidery. Single- and double strand needle punch work - available unframed or in a vintage wooden frame.

Measures 5 x 6.5 inches.

I love the look & feel of all things wool, so I worked this sweet little feather tree on tea stained camel wool. Larger design in double-strand needle punch work - available finished, but unframed.
