These are my original punch needle designs. I take great care to ensure my hand-drawn patterns are straight on grain with ample space for ease in hooping or attaching to a gripper frame. Examples here are the designs as I have worked them using either wool blend threads or cotton overdyed floss. Wool threads have a lot of loft and produce a great primitive look; these threads come in the kits & feed best through a three-strand needle using a single strand, or two strands of thread. Please order threads separately in colors of your choosing..

Folk Flowers Shadowbox

I adapted my rug hooking pattern, Folk Flowers, to create this kit. I know all you primitive lovers will like it -- at least I hope you do! I worked mine with wool threads for a soft, aged look. The area behind the central flower design remains open (unworked), for a shadowbox effect. You can leave it as I did, or fill in the background if you wish.  I worked this one with two strands of wool thread.  5.5 x 5.5 inches

You Hold My Heart

You Hold My Heart is a great piece to give as a Valentine's Day gift, or to create and display in your home all year. I designed the heart and hand with a twist, as the hand is actually holding the heart. I used 2 strands of overdyed cotton threads to achieve an antique look.  5.5” x 3.5”

Patriot’s Pineapple

This is my punch needle version of my Patriot's Pineapple rug hooking pattern. The pineapple is the Early American symbol of hospitality - I thought it paired well with the patriotic theme of this original design. It looks great worked in the dull-colored wool threads. I worked the model using one strand of thread.

Punchin’ Bag - Hawaiian Quilt

Love old quilt patterns? Me, too! This punch needle purse features  my adaptation of a pattern element from an old Hawaiian quilt. I punched mine on charcoal/black wool, using 3 strands of wool blend threads- you can use your favorite threads and fabric. I kept this one simple by just adding a handle of the same wool, and attaching it with gold-tone handle loops. Kit includes pattern on fusible woven interfacing, paper purse pattern, and directions for constructing the purse. 9 x 12  ►

Punchin’ Bag - Autumn Bounty

This Autumn wool purse features a yellowware bowl brimming with fall bounty. I punched it on a natural wool using 3 strands of wool blend threads- you can use your favorite threads and fabric. Simple envelope construction. Kit includes pattern on fusible inter-facing, paper pattern, and directions. 9 x 12 inches

Punchin’ Bag - Spring Flowers

This purse patterns is Spring Flowers, which features a big bouquet of primitive flowers. I punched mine on denim wool, using 2 strands of wool blend threads- you can use your favorite threads and fabric. Kit includes pattern on fusible woven interfacing, paper purse pattern, and directions for constructing the purse.

Country Key Keeper

Need a nice-looking place to gather all your keys? I had some little hooks by the back door, but they looked awful. So, I designed this cool insert that fits into a wide wooden frame. Paint a frame to match your decor, add some hooks, and pop the needle punch design into the opening (this opening measures 5 x 5 inches.) Voilá! Now you have a great place to hang your keys!

Historic Floral

I was asked by CTR Needleworks and Weeks Dye Works to create a project, using my CTR punch needles and WDW beautiful overdyed threads. Weeks Dye Works promoted the pattern and project at the TNNA show recently.  Now you can download it for free from their web site! Or, get it here on weavers or interfacing, ready to punch! I used interfacing fused to overdyed wool for this model. 6.5 x 5.5

Option 3: Mini Starter Kit

My Mini Starter kit lets you get your feet wet without committing a ton of money.  Do you just want to see if you like punch needle, and then gather more supplies if you decide to do that later? Give it a try! You’ll get a small heart design on which to practice and learn, along with the required threads and a three-strand needle by CTR (it comes with threaders and gauges, too.) You provide the 4-inch embroidery hoop.
