in Primitive Rug Hooking and Punch Needle Embroidery

Instructor & folk artist, Sally Van Nuys, creates original hooked rug and punch needle patterns. She also designs rug hooking and punch needle projects for Create & Decorate magazine. It all keeps her busy doing what she loves, which includes teaching others these historic art forms. You can join her informal studio classes in Northern Ohio. Call today to see when the next class begins.

There will be optional classes and workshops following beginning classes for any students who want to learn more or just continue on as a group.

Classes are informal, very informative and lots of fun! Get a friend to take class with you - share driving to class, wool or thread stash, and all the fun together! Have a group that would like to take a class together? Sally can accommodate up to 6 students and will make every effort to schedule your group in a class together. Call now!

Are you interested in taking a traditional rug hooking or miniature needle punch embroidery class? Do you live near the Northern Ohio area? If so, contact me. Classes are held in my home studio in Spring and Fall - class size is limited to ensure adequate one-on-one instruction.

Beginning class introduces you to the art of traditional rug hooking (not latch hooking) or miniature needle punch embroidery. Classes last six consecutives weeks, and are held once a week.

Basic techniques, materials, and tools are explained, displayed and  discussed. You will complete a hand-hooked mat or punch needle embroidery project during the course of your classes.
