Issue:January 2010 |
Welcome . . .Well we have a whole new year laid out before us. What will you do in 2010? Did you make some (perhaps dreaded) resolutions, or maybe set some new goals? I am looking ahead with anticipation of, and thankfulness for, another 365 days to be creative and enjoy my family and friends. I hope to accomplish things that were left behind last year and to continue to inspire and be inspired by all of you. Let's make 2010 a really good year! |

Fall-Winter Classes Coming to a Close
The rug
hooking class that began last Fall is coming to a close. Originally scheduled to
finish up before the holidays, I had to be postpone classes while I recovered
from my surgery, and by then we were right in the midst of everyone's holiday
planning. So we will meet two more times (I am really looking forward to seeing
the students and hooking friends again!) These classes are so much fun -- I feel
so blessed to be able to share and teach others to hook rugs. I think the
students have a good time as well.
Spring will bring a new round of students and bring old hooking friends back to hook and chat and share. I recently spoke with a nice lady from Girard, Ohio who has a group of friends who want to all take a punch needle embroidery class together. What a great idea . . . built-in fun, car pooling, and girlfriend time all rolled into one class night. I hope they decide that the drive is not too great -- I would love to host them and teach them punch needle embroidery! If you have a group in Northern Ohio that would like to take a class together, check out the Studio Classes information, and then give me a call. I'd love to host a class for you! |
New Beginner's Rug Hooking Kits I have had so many people order my beginner's rug hooking kit, only to call me after receiving it to ask about a frame. If you've hooked with a quilting hoop you know it's not the easiest way (in my opinion.) After much thought, I have decided to offer a brand new beginner's kit with a new rug pattern, called Padulas, and I am offering it two ways! The Ultimate is the newest rug kit and with it you get a great gripper frame from Bee Creek Ltd., a Hartman rug hook, my set of 5 tutorial booklets, and all the pre-cut wool. This is the ultimate way to get started rug hooking. The Complete is my other beginner's kit. It contains the new rug pattern, all the pre-cut wool, instructions, and a Moshimer hook. Send me the link in an email and I will share related information in a future Quick Links column. |

I'm all a Twitter
Okay,
admittedly that was a bad pun. But did I get your attention? I began using
Twitter last year to tweet about a lot of stuff. I tweet when I update the
website, when I post a new blog post (yeah, I fell off the good blogger wagon in
the Fall,) or when I add new things to my Etsy or ArtFire shops. I also tweet
about the Cavs and if I find a really cool website that I feel the need to share
with someone. I try to keep my tweets relevant to creating art most of the time,
but a few just plain fun things sneak in now and then. I would love for you to
join my Followers on Twitter! My Twitter page is
